Water Corrosion Problems and Sustainability of Water Supply Schemes

Water supply schemes should be technically and socially sustainable for smooth running, operation maintenances. Failure in either one of these leads to the whole system failure. Once is feasible, we can manage its social aspects. In this paper, deal with technical sustainability corrosive water, impacts remedial measures. Corrosive water severely damage intakes, metal pipes, cemented chambers, concrete reservoir household plumbing systems. Hence, it necessary identify corrosiveness neutralized. There are several solutions problem, however, they not economical semi urban rural communities. propose a sustainable, natural solution determine effective technology neutralize it. The proposed uses naturally available resources, hence makes affordable. method deployed, doesn’t require additional resources such as continuous monitoring, skilled manpower electrical power cost etc. method, initially, identified using parameters as: total dissolved solid (TDS), pH, temperature, calcium alkalinity. then analyzed laboratory. With carbon dioxide kinetic study, verify design stabilization tank volume calculation. research outcome applied field upgrade intake, pipe fitting designs. experiment conducted data obtained from including Padampokhari scheme Nepal tested same scheme.
